There is a type of complicity,

that occurs on a level,

most certainly below the skin.

It is not a disease,

though it is communicable,

and it doesn’t seem to take hold, much;

though, the ones who have felt it, are changed.

It doesn’t seem to affect different people, differently, at all.

It is not negative,

nor is it in any way political, educational, institutional;

it is not particularly of any religion,

it is more elemental than that.

It is a simple word,

yet full of possibilities;

it is hope.
